Seattle PI reporter Casey McNerthney interviewed Seattle police captain Neil Low regarding the suspicious death of Charlie Legate 90-years ago. Low reviewed the file, originally ruled a Suicide, while he served as the Homicide Commander. Low realized the investigation had been slip shod, at best, and was more than likely a cover up by those in charge during that bygone era when many fine officers were killed.
Low believes Legate was murdered and the department at the time wanted the investigation to go away.

The LeGate murder inspired Low’s novel, UNHOLY ALLIANCE, a term incoming Chief Sevryns used to describe his Department’s link to the Crime Lords in Chinatown.
